Kermesse Ecole Massillon 2012

Alas, our last french school Kermesse.  Suffice it to say that the french know how to throw fabulous parties - even at school.  Who knew?

Each class practices for weeks on a dance routine which they perform on a stage in front of a big audience.  They are always very proud and excited.  The day is full of a palpable energy filled with music and dancing and yummy food that lasts late into the night.

We have less that one year left of school in France.  Thus far, we have had a wonderful experience filled with challenges and triumphs, discovery and friends.

I feel confident the children and I will cherish the memories forever.

Water Water Everywhere

Each year the children's english class has an auction to raise money for a good cause.  Last year it was to save the pandas and this year the money collected was given to a wildlife fund.  The children learned about the importance of the earth's water and how it is the essence of life.  They designed tshirts around this theme and modeled them on a catwalk and then all of the mommies participated in an auction to win their favorite shirts.  The children were very excited  and proud and really enjoyed this event.

Smores and Shores

A couple of Page family firsts occurred a few weeks ago and were shared with some new friends, the Limroths, on the southern coast of France in Cap D'Agde.  We were invited to go camping and, while we did entertain the idea of tents and campfires and all out roughing it, we decided to go the posh way and stay in a mobile home complete with toilet, shower, bed, kitchen with refrigerator.  So, while labeling it "camping" may be a stretch, it was our first Page family camping trip and it was a lovely long weekend getaway full of beach time, pick up soccer games, hopscotch, late night poker games, dinners shared with friends and smores - another Page children first...  even for Freddie!  I didn't think you could be American and 36 years old and have never tried a smore.  Alas, c'est possible.

Here are some of our captured moments...
