This photo was taken after my first bulk grocery shopping excursion when we moved into our new apartment. I was determined to not have to go shopping every day or to have no groceries on Sunday. The store is Geant Casino (Giant Casino). It is one of Clermont's versions of Walmart minus the 24/7 hours.
Forgot the pictures of our new car in the previous post! My awesome husband deserves super french speaking kudos even though he did take a co-worker with him to research and purchase our new car. I can't even fathom doing what he did considering I get all sweaty and flustered buying eggs and a baguette.
We debated between a monospace which is Europe's version of the mini-van and the break which is what the French call a station wagon. The monospaces have three rows of seats but not nearly as much unused space as my old Honda Odyssey... nor a DVD player which was the first thing Joshua asked about. One thing I have learned in the month we have lived here - you really don't need that much space... not in your house and not in your car. I wouldn't go as far as to say "less is more" but I definitely now feel less is definitely liveable where I would have said two months ago "I can't live like this.. I need more space!".
So, I tortured my husband in the US making him drive the totally uncool Odyssey. Uncool according to him.. I loved it! Given the opportunity to purchase a new car, out of necessity due to needing to fit three car seats we went with the, in his eyes, almost equally uncool station wagon.. although, I must say, I think we are totally styling and profiling (what does that really mean anyways?) in our Volkswagon Passat station wagon. He says that is only from a Mom's perspective. You decide... is this too cool or what?? It drives like a sports car. Maybe I feel that way because I used to drive a bus. Either way, I can't wait to go on a road trip!

Volkswagen passat break is a good choice, i think!! Your car is really nice, i love it! And you have to change the license plate : 19 means who are living in Correze, you have to change that in 63 (Puy de Dome)!! And you must put a Palmetto sticker on it ;-)
Do you drive it??

Thanks for the information Marie! I had no idea.. I will let Freddie know. I do need to get a Palmetto sticker and show a little South Carolina spirit. :) I do drive... Yes, I risk my life about 3 times per week on the roads of Clermont. :) That is another one of the things that is SO different from Greenville. Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog! Miss y'all.. can't wait for you to move back so we can hang out. Au revoir!
