11:54am - The night before Departure day

Oh yes, I am aware that it is almost midnight and I should be sleeping. I am too worried that each of our eight suitcases is over the 50lb weight limit and will cost us a mere $150/bag! When did the airlines become so greedy? An extra bag can cost you $100. Good thing we have two more bags we can check but that would total 10 checked bags, 7 carry on bags, 1 stroller, 3 car seats, 3 kids and 5 coats. Are you picturing us at the check-in line yet?

So, we may have to chalk up another disagreement between Freddie and I when tomorrow he tells me we can't take my salt shakers that I don't want to have to purchase again in France or all of the Christmas cards and books and other potentially unnecessary items that I have stashed away. Leaving behind clothes? We won't even go there.

In all of this frivolous mental turmoil, I came across this scripture which always soothes my soul. Thought it may touch you, too.

Zephaniah 3:17:

17 The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

Praying for you as I know this is a very exciting day for your next chapter in life. Exciting, hectic, and I am sure there will be a story to be told on this day before it is all said and done.

A prayer for you, Freddie, and Sophia, Josh, and Emily from the Book of Common Prayer:

O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve those who travel Freddie, Jennifer, Josh, Sophia, and Emily; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to their journey's end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
